Multidrug-resistant cells overexpressing P-glycoprotein are susceptible to DNA crosslinking agents due to attenuated Src/nuclear EGFR cascade-activated DNA repair activity. photoWe synthesized several novel bifunctional alkylating derivatives of 3a-aza-cyclopenta[a]indene (BO-1012, BO-1005, BO-1099 and BO-1101) that are potent DNA interstrand crosslinking agents. In in vitro cytotoxicity assay, these compounds were more cytotoxic to multidrug-resistant (MDR) cells, such as KBvin10, KBtax50 and CEM/VBL, than their parental cells.. ........detail

hnRNP Q regulates Cdc42-mediated neuronal morphogenesis. photoThe RNA-binding protein hnRNP Q has been implicated in neuronal mRNA metabolism. Here, we show that knockdown of hnRNP Q increased neurite complexity in cultured rat cortical neurons and induced filopodium formation in mouse neuroblastoma cells. Re-expression of hnRNP Q1 in hnRNP Q-depleted cells abrogated the morphological changes of neurites. ........detail

TROP2 is epigenetically inactivated and modulates IGF-1R signalling in lung adenocarcinoma. photoTrop-2, a cell surface glycoprotein, contains both extracellular epidermal growth factor-like and thyroglobulin type-1 repeat domains. Low TROP2 expression was observed in lung adenocarcinoma tissues as compared with their normal counterparts.
