Product No. AGP3-PABM-A

AGP3 Data Sheet

Description: Mouse anti-PEG
Specificity: Polyethylene glycol
Other names: PEG
Format: Purified
Product Type: Monoclonal Antibody
Clone: AGP3
Isotype: IgM
Species: mouse
Price: see price list

AGP3 Product details

AGP3 was the first monoclonal antibody developed with specificity for the repeating subunits present in PEG. This antibody of the IgM class is widely used in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries for quantification of PEG. A sensitive ELISA can be achieved utilizing AGP3 as a capture antibody and AGP3-biotin as the detection reagent.

Applications

This product has been reported to work in the following applications, The information is derived from experiments performed in our laboratory as well as from personal communications.

Yes No Not Determined
ELISA

g

Western blotting g
Flow cytometry g
PEGylated liposomes g
Immunohistochemistry g
PEGylated quantum dots g
Free PEG

free PEG can be detected onimmunoblots and if coated in microtiter plates. Free PEG is detected poorly by ELISA.

Product Form Purified IgM liquid
Preparation Purified IgM prepared by gel filtration chromatography
Buffer solution Phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4
Preservative 0.02% sodium azide (NaN3)
Immunogen Conjugate of an antibody and PEG-modified E. coli β-glucuronidase
Fusion partners Spleen cells from immunized BALB/c mice and FO myeloma cells

Specificity

AGP3 binds to the repeating subunits of polyethylene glycol. The minimum PEG size that can be bound is ~ 2000 Da. Effective binding is greatly enhanced in PEG conjugates (i.e. PEG-protein, PEG-liposome, PEG-cell, PEG-nanoparticle conjugates).

ELISA

Coating concentrations of 10-20 µg/ml (50 µl/well) are recommended.

AGP3-biotin, 3.3-biotin or AGP4-biotin are recommended for detection

Storage

Store aliquots at -20oC. Antibodies should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
