Thesis Advisor
Thesis advisors can be selected from any assistant professors or above who is a member of this program and meet the qualifications under “Guidelines for qualifications as thesis advisors for doctoral and master's students at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University”.
Students should have completed at least two laboratory rotations of two months each and have chosen their thesis advisors by the beginning of their second year.
A Advisory Committee consists of three to five intra- and extramural instructors. At least 1/3 of the committee members must be from this program. Appointments of and any changes to the committee members will be determined by the student's thesis advisor, along with the program director and the Dean of the College of Life Sciences at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.
At the beginning of the third year , Ph.D. candidates should meet with their Thesis Advisory Committee every year to assess their thesis progress.
