| 工作內容: | Research associate positions at all levels are available in Dr. Shih-Lei (Ben) Lai’s laboratory at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (IBMS), Academia Sinica for highly motivated candidates who are interested in the field of cardiac development, repair, and regeneration. Academia Sinica is the most prominent, government-funded, research institute in Taiwan (https://www.sinica.edu.tw/en/articles/73), while IBMS focuses on disease-oriented basic research and its translational opportunities (https://www.ibms.sinica.edu.tw/benlai/).
We are interested in (1) the differential injury response that occurs in regenerative vs. non-regenerative models (2) immune cell heterogeneity and function in cardiac repair and regeneration (3) potential signaling cascades instructively trigger revascularization, cardiomyocyte dedifferentiation and proliferation, and scar resolution. We adopt multiple experimental models (zebrafish, medaka, mouse, iPSCs, primary cells, etc) and state-of-art technologies in our research, well-funded by grants from IBMS/Academia Sinica, National Science Council, and National Health Research Institute (NHRI) and annual intramural funding. | ||
| 應徵資格: | Successful candidates will have a recent Ph.D./M.S./B.Sc. in immunology, developmental biology, life science, or other related fields. Candidates with prior research experience in animal models (especially in mice and fish), bioinformatics, genetics, and molecular biology/biochemistry are especially encouraged to apply. English is the working language in our lab as we are open to a diverse composition of international trainees. Mandarin skills are not required, and there are free classes on campus for whoever is interested in learning it.
