P3實驗室 P3 Lab

部門介紹 INTRODUCTION
The P3 Lab located in IBMS is specifically designed for handling biohazardous RG3 viruses at the Biosafety Level 3 environment. This facility does not handle bacterial infection or animal studies. Our goal is to provide adequate biosafety protection of researchers in Taiwan, so that we are better prepared for the next epidemics or outbreaks.  
生醫所生物安全第三等級實驗室 (P3實驗室) 是操作危險性生物安全等級RG3病毒之特定實驗室 (不包含細菌感染與動物實驗)。 P3 實驗室能提供給專家學者符合國際標準的P3研究場所，成為提升台灣危險性病毒研究、防治及生物安全防護能力的核心，以因應下一波疫情流行。

   以下服務簡介：  


1.提供學者自己操作危險性病原病毒之相關協助資詢：
   欲申請使用P3 實驗室，需依據本P3 實驗室之標準作業程序，進行書面計
   畫審核與操作人員教育訓 練，通過符合資格後，始得以使用，並以中研
   院計畫主持人優先。
 
2.提供訓練P3 實驗室專業人員的場所：
   隔鄰的P2+實驗室可作為未來P3專業人員之訓練場所。

 

Main missions of this P3 Lab:

 

I. To provide consultation, supervision and guidence for PI who plan to
   operate in the P3 room by themselves:
 
        Applicants of P3 users must meet the following qualifications:
        1) Submit applications according to the SOP
        2) Have received sufficient official credits in education and training
            for P3 operations
        3) Priority users include full-time employees and faculty at Academia
            Sinica
 
II.To provide a platform for education and training of specialists in P3
   operations:
 
        A P2+ Lab next to the P3 room provides a platform for training
        inexperienced personnels, who plan to use the P3 facility in the future.
