P3實驗室 P3 Lab
The P3 Lab located in IBMS is specifically designed for handling biohazardous RG3 viruses at the Biosafety Level 3 environment. This facility does not handle bacterial infection or animal studies. Our goal is to provide adequate biosafety protection of researchers in Taiwan, so that we are better prepared for the next epidemics or outbreaks.

1. 核心工作
- 維持BSL-3 實驗室軟硬體設備正常運作：合約維護廠商每⽉例⾏性執⾏硬體維護與軟體修正，汰換維修耗損零件與機組設備，以維持及提升實驗室運作，提供專家學者符合國際標準的BSL-3研究場所。
- 提供學者⾃⼰操作RG3病毒之相關協助及諮詢：以中研院計畫主持⼈優先使⽤設施，依據本實驗室之管理程序提出使⽤申請，實驗計畫提交院⽅委員會審議，通過後進⾏操作⼈員教育訓練，接受考核並符合資格者得以進入實驗室使⽤儀器設施。
- 提供代為操作RG3病毒進⾏研究之相關服務：⽣物安全與⽣物保全考量下，須符合資格之操作⼈員得進入使⽤，實驗室⻑期培訓專業操作⼈員，可提供代為操作相關服務。
- 提供訓練BSL-3實驗室專業⼈員的場所：本實驗室符合疾管署對⾼防護實驗室的相關規範，並配有四名專業操作⼈員，每年定期接受教育訓練，也對新進⼈員進⾏教育訓練，以避免⼈員及環境因意外事件遭受傳染性微⽣物感染或污染，確保⼈員及週遭環境之安全。在中研院⽀持下，將成為培養BSL-3專業⼈員的搖籃。
2. 使用管理規範
- 開放時間：可預約時段為工作日上午9點至下午5點，非工作日暫不開放。每次使用以3小時、每日不超過6小時為原則，若有特殊需求，得另外提出申請。
- 經實驗室負責人授權之操作人員才能進入本實驗室自行操作實驗。
- 新進操作人員：須具備2年以上BSL-2實驗室操作經驗，接受疾管署13項主題至少15小時之實驗室生物安全訓練課程並測試合格，完成本實驗室教育訓練及知能評核，相關規範見「中央研究院高防護實驗室工作人員之生物安全訓練及考核規定」。
- 在職操作人員：每年應參加疾管署或本院生安會提供之生物安全及生物保全課程4小時，完成本實驗室人員再教育訓練並通過考核，相關規範見「中央研究院高防護實驗室工作人員之生物安全訓練及考核規定」。
- 操作人員應遵守本實驗室「職業安全衛生手冊」及「生物風險管理手冊」規定，違反者須接受再教育訓練，屢次不改或情節重大者將取消進入資格。
3. 收費項目及標準
- 收費標準依實際情形進行評估，每年重新計算成本，需調整時另行公告。

There are four main missions of this BSL-3 Lab
- To maintain the regulated operations of both hardware and software equipment in this facility: The monthly maintenance was performed by the contracted manufacturers including replacing and repairing worn-out parts and the software upgrade.
- To provide relevant assistance and consultation for PIs to operate RG3 viruses by themselves: Applicants to become a user of this BSL-3 facility must follow the below criteria: (1) According to the BSL-3 lab’s SOP submit applications to the faculty committee for consideration. (2) receive enough official credits in education and training. (3) priority goes for faculty in Academia Sinica.
- To provide related service for operating RG3 viruses for the PIs: With the consideration of biosafety and biosecurity, only qualified operators can enter and operate in the BSL-3 lab. The BSL-3 lab has long-term training professional operators that can provide related services.
- To provide a platform for the education and training of specialists in BSL-3 operations: The BSL-3 lab conformed to the relevant regulations of the CDC for high protection laboratories and is equipped with four professional operators. Qualified professionals receive regular education and training.
