本實驗室研究延腦對生理功能的調控。除延腦的腹側部,我們發現延腦背部在維持血管張力,血壓上升及參與中腦防禦反應所引發之心血管作用中扮演重要的角色。以延腦背部為核心,我們探討它與其他神經核的關係。進一步證明,延腦尾端腹側部具有整合調控心血管與呼吸的機制及抗缺氧的能力。此外,延腦的心血管調控區,也混雜其他神經細胞具有調控呼吸、腸胃道及軀體系統反射的功能。所以,延腦藉由多重調控機制來維持生理恆定。
