Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) can involve MHC-restricted presentation of a drug or its metabolites for T-cell activation. HLA-B1502 tightly associated with carbamazepine (CBZ) induced these conditions in a Han Chinese population.
