由於遺傳工程的發展，目前以小鼠之動物模式來探討人類的心血管疾病極為普遍。本實驗室利用心臟之冠狀動脈結紮術，模擬人類的心肌受損，以及心臟與腎臟缺血後再進行灌流受損模式。在過去的幾年中，實驗室已建立了老鼠在in vivo的檢測系統，包含心電圖、心臟超音波、無線遙測發報系統及心率變異性分析等，並且透過所內PI之間的合作進行基因缺失(ATF3)與心血管之疾病之研究。此外，我們已成功篩選可促進ATF3表現的單一化合物並釐清其可能的臨床應用以逆轉高脂飲食誘導的肥胖症和相關疾病。
