We are interesting in finding the innovative and prognostic cancer driver genes of prevalent cancers in Taiwan for revealing the pathological mechanisms and developing therapeutic strategies. We apply cutting-edge approaches such as genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular cell biology to dissect tumorigenic pathways, to study molecular mechanisms of tumor progression and to develop therapeutic strategies.

 Projects in cancer driver genes:

  1. We investigate tumorigenic mechanisms of aberrant PSPC1 in pro-metastatic tumor reprogramming;
  2. We apply integrated genomics and bioinformatics approaches to identify innovative targets for diagnosis and therapy in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and lung adenocarcinoma;
  3. We study molecular mechanisms of novel somatic coding and non-coding genes involved in tumor pathogenesis.

 Projects in cancer genomics and bioinformatics:

  1. OncoDB.Glycogene: An integrated cancer genomic database for glycosylation-related genes
  2. IGRhCellID: integrated genomic resources of human cell lines for identification
  3. IGDB.NSCLC: integrated genomic database of non-small cell lung cancer
  4. OncoDB.HCC: oncogenomic database of hepatocellular carcinoma
  5. TPMD: Taiwan Polymorphic Markers Database

We applied integrated genomic approaches to reveal genome-wide alterations of cancer genomes and established comprehensive cancer databases to facilitate discovery of innovative cancer driver genes for pathological and mechanistic studies and for developing strategies in therapeutic interventions to prolong life of cancer patients.
